Trent Vale is an average sized Infant School with 50 places per year group. This gives a total of 150 full time pupils. It also has a 26 place nursery which has facilities for 26 children in the morning and 26 children in the afternoon.

This is a successful school and highly regarded by the local community. It has a good partnership with parents, local businesses and volunteers; many of whom help in school on a regular basis.

Organisation of Classes

There are currently 6 classes in the school, plus our 26 place nursery. In all of our classes we aim for balance of gender and ability. Sometimes it is necessary to mix ages, depending on numbers. This also helps to keep our class sizes of similar numbers of children. Where this is necessary teaching expectations are still high and appropriate to the needs of the individual child. Staff spend a long time thinking very carefully which class will best suit each individual child. Each class teacher is regularly supported in the classroom by a teaching assistant. The school organisation is currently as follows:-

Nursery/Foundation Stage 1 (F1)

2 sessions; am and pm. If children are with us all day they can access a lunch club from 11.45am – 12.30pm.

Reception/Foundation Stage 2 (F2)

Two F2 Classes – Lilac  Class and Beech Class

Year 1 and Year 2

Two Year One Classes – Cedar Class and Holly Class

Two Year Two Classes – Maple Class and Elm Class
