Organisation of Classes
There are currently 6 classes in the school; 3 in Lower School and 3 in Upper School. In all of our classes we aim for balance of gender and ability. Sometimes it is necessary to mix ages, depending on numbers. This also helps to keep our class sizes of similar numbers of children. Where this is necessary teaching expectations are still high and appropriate to the needs of the individual child. Staff spend a long time thinking very carefully which class will best suit each individual child. The school organisation is currently as follows:-
Year 3
One mixed ability group of Year 3 children.
Year 4
Two mixed ability groups of Year 4 children.
Year 5
One mixed ability groups of Year 5 children.
Year 5/6
One mixed ability group of Year 5 and Year 6 children.
Year 6
One mixed ability groups of Year 6 children.
